    Okay, what if you don't have any default by default. Prompt the user the first time that you need to do this and you could make a checkbox that sets the default action as whatever they click on (or just force them to setup the defaults then). In my opinion that may be the most user friendly, least anti-productive, and the most logical way to do this.
