Problems with opening figures

I opened a Word Document, that actually was generated by Open Office, in
which I had placed a figure in wmf format. In Abiword, it opens as a
black square, no figure. If I import the figure into Abiword, it works,
but the picture quality is bad - pixelated.

Any suggestions?
