    this breaks endnotes! i'm redoing them to be more like what footnotes
    are going to be like. that's ok, they're not in any released version.

    I still need to tweak the code to insert footnote sections, etc etc.
    Heck, I don't even know how to put them onto the page yet. (martin:
    breakSection only gets to create new columns...)
